HALLOWEEN

On 31st October, children in Britain, Ireland and the USA dress up as witches, monsters and ghosts. They go from house to house and ring the doorbell. When the door opens they shout, “trick or treat”. People give the children a treat: sweets, nuts or fruit. Some people don’t give anything. Then the children play a trick. They ring the doorbell again and run away. There are also Halloween parties. A favourite game is snap apple. First hang an apple by the stem with a string. Then try to bite the apple with your teeth. Do not use your hands.
